FLORENCE, S.C. – Wanda Vereen has been named director of the Courtney McGinnis Graham Community Shelter operated by House of Hope of the Pee Dee.
Vereen has been with House of Hope for almost 15 years, filling many roles before this appointment. Most recently she served as case manager at the Graham Shelter.
“I am looking forward to continuing to serve people in my new role,” Vereen said in a news release. “I recognize this as a calling, and I feel very blessed to be able to serve in this manner.”
Vereen is a graduate of Coker College with a BA degree in social work. In addition to her work with House of Hope, she serves on the Board for Total Care For The Homeless and the FEMA Board serving Florence and Darlington counties.
“Wanda Vereen has been at the heart of this ministry for 15 years, and we expect great service to our residents to continue under her watch,” said Bryan Braddock, executive director at House of Hope.
The House of Hope is a Christ-centered ministry consisting of the Courtney McGinnis Graham Community Shelter, which provides emergency food and lodging to men, women and families, and the Men’s Home, which offers transitional, long-term help for men seeking a new start to their lives.
